Send Bounce Emails
If you are allowing other users to send mail through SMarTPost, or run it in the background, you may wish to receive an e-mail when your outgoing mail fails. If you would like this, check Email Author on Failed Message
Display Alert in System Tray on failed message.
Selecting this option will turn the SMarTPost system tray icon into a new icon with a red exclamation(!) mark. This is warning that mail has ended up in the failed message queue.
Configuring your email account.
Using Outlook Express
1) Start Outlook Express
2) Click on Tools then Accounts
3) Double click the mail account you use.
4) Select the tab Servers
5) Enter localhost for Outgoing Mail (SMTP)
6) Click on OK Please Note: "My server requires authentication" under "Outgoing Mail Server" must not be checked
Sending Emails
Once SMarTPost is running, everytime you send mail from your email client, it processes the emails sent from the accounts where SMarTPost is listed as SMTP server. If you send a mail while SMarTPost is not running, then your email account will give you an error message. In this case, please restart SMarTPost and resend mail.
