For advanced users

You may use SMarTPost as an intranet or internet mail server. Please check the option, to accept outside connections under Server Settings. Other users can then utilise SMarTPost services by entering the intranet or internet ip of your computer as SMTP Server.

Creating a desktop shortcut
Open the folder with the SMarTPost.exe file, right click the SMarTPost.exe file and select Send to.. then Desktop (Create Shortcut)

Start SMarTPost with windows
If you wish to start SMarTPost with Windows, then create a shortcut to SMarTPost on your desktop. Right click the Windows START button, select open. Click on programs then on autostart.
Drag and Drop the shortcut into the autostart folder.
Parameters for starting SMarTPost from a command line:
smartpost.exe -b Starts SMarTPost and runs it in background mode, no icon in the system tray or taskbar.
smartpost.exe -t Starts SMarTPost and runs it minimized to the taskbar, a button appears in the taskbar.
smartpost.exe -s Starts SMarTPost and runs it minimized to the systemtray, a icon appears in the systemtray

Running from Command Line
SMarTPost can be activated and disabled from the command line.
To start SMarTPost from the command line, type smartpost -b, the folder to SMarTPost must be in your DOS PATH variable
To stop SMarTPost from the command line, type smartpost kill

Server Port
There may be some reasons why you are unable to run SMarTPost on port 25, for example if your ISP blocks some ports. If this is the case, SMarTPost can be set to run as a server on any port you give, but that port must not have any other server running on it.
To set the port, go to the "server" menu, and select "settings". In the box that says port, enter a new port number. To save settings, press "Save".
