PrivacyCookiesPrivate InformationPrivate information, such as name and e-mail addresses, and provided voluntarily, I do not expect such information. Where the user wishes to receive a reply, a valid e-mail address should be provided, or else such a reply is made impossible. IP AddressesIP Addresses are your address when connected to the net, without them, nothing on the net would work, it's how a piece of information gets from one place to another, and the response gets back. IP Addresses may be looked up in a central database depending on your region, and from this the name of the business or service provider who owns the IP can be obtained, including their name and address. No personal information about a user can be obtained from an IP Address, unless required by law, and a court forces the service provider to do so with a warrant. HelpBytes uses IP Addresses in the following ways:
Statistics: General InformationHelpBytes maintains a database of statistics ranging to page hits, user accounts, user-agents used, and platforms. These help me in keeping pages upto date with changes. The information about pages visited, along with the type of software used to visit the pages is stored, anonymously, for long periods of time. This information is publically available in the form of tables of numbers and graphs, labelled as stats. No information links a user to these statistics. |
