Spam Emails - 

I would like to apologise to anybody who received spam through our system between the 18th and 19th September.

Unfortunately a script on our site intended for good, to allow people to share interesting content, was abused to email out around 25 000 spam emails to various addresses.

As soon as I found out about this, the script was immediately updated to prevent a re-occurence.

Please disregard any of these emails.

Yahoo! Chat - Mac Messenger User List - 

Since Yahoo!'s Maintenance that introduced a new, longer Captcha link, the user list on the Yahoo! Messenger for Mac has been displaced.
However, there is a simple way to bring this back into view. On your chat screen, hover over to the left of the screen until you see the double arrow. Double click or drag on this to bring it into view.
Unfortunately, this setting isn't remembered and you must do this each time you start chat.
Yahoo! maintain this is a feature they removed, but it's a bug introduced by the longer captcha URL - development on the Mac version has ceased though.

Paying for Yahoo! Clients / Add Ons - 

I have posted something similar to this a few years ago - but I really can't stress the downsides to paying for software for Yahoo! Chat.

Unless you have commitment from your developer, backed up by some financial commitment to you, to update the software as and when necessary, you may end up with software that doesn't work and be out of pocket.

People developing this software have no link to Yahoo!, and if Yahoo! decide to make changes, they find out the same time as you - when it breaks. If they cannot fix it, or won't fix it, you have lost money.

Yahoo! Maintenance Breaks Captcha / Mac -  18th June 2011 00:00:00

Yahoo! performed some maintenance on Thursday and things have been broken with Room Entry (Captcha) / Mac since, as follows:

• Yahoo! Messenger for Windows 11 Beta - you must click the link that appears when you try to enter the chat room to get the captcha to appear.
• YahELite - you must do some additional stuff to get the captcha. More instructions here and here.
• YaZak,Y!Caddy and Y!Supra - each has been upgraded, make sure you upgrade to the latest versions.
• Yahoo! Messenger for Mac - unfortunately although you can enter chat, in addition to all previous broken functionality, you will now be unable to see users in the user list.

What strikes us as obvious here is that Yahoo! did not test everything properly due to the Yahoo! Messenger for Windows/Mac problems, or simply do not care.
