Without search engines, the internet would be impossible to navigate. But even with search
engines people still find it impossible. I see it all the time, some people use very vague
search terms etc... and don't know how to improve their results.
I will aim the content of this page at Google, simply because I think it's the best search engine.
Google also provude the search solutions for many other websites, including Yahoo! Search.
Don't be vague
The more words you enter, the less results are going to appear, it's obvious if you think about it. More
pages will have the word help in (309m), than pages with both the words help and computer(9.8m).
One can apply logic to the search engine to make it do certain things.
Search for linux, but not mandrake
Exact phrase Match
If you watned to search for a page that had the exact phrase you ented, you probably will have noticed
it picks up every page with all those words, wherever in the page, and this is not what you wanted.
Google currently spiders the entire, or part of this website daily.
Hopefully, you will be now more aware of searching using google, and getting better results! This is a more up to date version of a similar webpage produced myself 3 or 4 years ago.
