Introduction
Due to the high number of e-mails, questions in chat and Instant Messages about pre written sets of emotions, I produced this page to help users share and download emotions.
The service is Free and simple, and is real time, no waiting for human verifaction of files etc...

Downloading a file to emote_user.dat
This is the first of 3 ways of downloading. If you have no existing emotions in emote_user.dat you can simply replace the file with the one from the site:
(1) Click the "Download" link.
(2) Select "Save"
(3) Save it to your Yahoo! Messenger folder, the default is: "C:\program files\yahoo\messenger\emote_user.dat"
(4) Restart Messenger Chat and the emotions are ready to use!

Downloading a file to emote.dat
If you would like to get rid of the original Yahoo! Emotions, or if you would like to be able to edit the files using the Emotion Creator software, you could save directly to emote.dat:
(1) Click the "Download" link.
(2) Select "Save"
(3) Save it to your Yahoo! Messenger folder, changing the filename from "emote_user.dat" to "emote.dat" , usually "C:\program files\yahoo!\messenger\emote.dat"
(4) Restart Messenger Chat and the emotions are ready to use!

Downloading into existing set
If you already have emotions in emote_user.dat or would like to edit them using Emotion Creator software without losing the Yahoo! ones, you can download them to a temporary file and copy them over:
(1) Click the "Download" link.
(2) Select "Save" (or "Open" and goto step 5)
(3) Save to a known place, such as your desktop or c:\ or my documents
(4) Open the file in notepad (left click filename, hold shift, right click select "open with..." and then select notepad).
(5) Select the emotions you want, by highlighting them, then select "edit","copy".
(6) Open the emote.dat or emote_user.dat in c:\program files\yahoo!\messenger\
(7) Go to the end of the file, then select "edit","paste".

Uploading a full set of emotions
To upload a complete set of custom emotions, scroll to the bottom of the list, and fill in the form details. Then in the last box, either enter the full location, including filename and extension, or click browse to find the file. It must be a .dat file, and lesst han 100kb in size
Click "Send" and if the security checks pass, it will be transferred successfully!

Uploading a part set of emotions
To upload only a section of your emotions:
(1) Select the emotions in the file you wish to upload, copy them, and paste into a blank file.
(2) Save the new file as emoteset.dat or something similar, ending in .dat.
(3) Follow the above instructions "Uploading a full set of emotions" for this new set.
