Editing Yahoo! Profiles

Getting to your profile

To get to your profile to view it, simply go to http://profiles.yahoo.com/<your ID here>, e.g http://profiles.yahoo.com/whereareallids .  If you are already logged into a Yahoo! Service you can edit your profile from this location by selecting "edit profile information" or one of the other "edit" options.

If this option doesn't exist, you need to go here and login: http://edit.profiles.yahoo.com/config/edit_identity .  Once logged in, you will see a list of your aliases, to edit a profile, simply select "edit" for the profile you wish to edit.

Edit Profile Information
This section lets you edit the things like Age, Real Name Location, Nickname, links and quotes.  Age must be a number between 14 and 999.  Nickname will only be available for those countries with a 5.5 messenger release.  Once edited, remember to click save changes.

Edit Voice
This lets you add a pre recorded voice message to your Yahoo! Profile.  This voice file must be on another website somewhere on the web, some free hosts (excluding geocities) may not work with this service due to remove linking issues.
Once you click Edit Voice you must insert the URL of the voice file, such as http://mysite.com/myvoice.mp3 .  This file must be in the format of: .wav, .rm, .mp3, .mpeg, .aif, .mov, or .midi .
Click Finished to save changes.  Your new profile page will now have a "hear my voice" link in future.

Change Page Colours
You may select one of several colour schemes.  Simply check the circle beside the scheme you prefer, and click Finished to save changes.
