Disable Yahoo! Auto UpdateAuto Update
Yahoo! Messenger is set to prompt automatically to download an update once one is made available. This cannot be turned off, and is annoying when you don't wish to upgrade, or specifically downgraded and the pop-up keeps on coming back. Our Solutions
Easy Solution: Go into the folder c:\program files\yahoo!\messenger\ and rename the file 'yupdater.exe' to something else, such as '_updater.exe'. Yahoo! will then fail to find the file and no more prompts! WarningRemember this stops you being notified of updates! Should an important update become available, you wont know! Resetting
To put it back to normal, rename the file back to 'yupdater.exe' or re-enable it access on your firewall. |
